Even if you don’t care for the actual song, the music video for RRA’s track “Fuck up” is a visual feast.  Directed and conceptualized by Peter Smuts “Fuck up” is a visual feast, considering it was shot in one take. The video was inspired by director David Lynch who is synonymous with surreal and dark films that deal with the existential.

RRA wanted his audience to know that there is a world outside of depression. “I don’t think depression is something that you can beat, but rather something that you continuously have to deal with” RRA explains. The aim was to let the audience know that they should never forget that there is a world outside of depression and that by keeping this in mind it becomes easier to snap out of a depressed state. “This can be done by either having conversations with people, taking walks, going to the movies and avoiding social media” the ‘Fuck up’ rapper elucidated.

RRA worked with a world class crew which was assembled by Peter Smuts. The brilliant Pierre De Villiers as the director of photography giving the video a value of timelessness. Karl Schmidt did a stupendous job as the cameraman considering the fact that the video was shot in one take. Tobie de Haas was on the lighting, Jade Ashton Scully on the art direction and the multi-talented rapper/ pop star/ icon GREEKGOD was the stylist.

Feedback on the visuals has only been positive, as expected. RRA also dropped his mixtape titled “dogger” on SoundCloud for those looking for more of his music. Watch “fuck up” below and tell us what you think in the comment section below.
