Rendani Nemakhavhani is a lecturer, creative and an art director at Joburgmyhomeburg. She is widely known for her work in her blog The Honey. She finds fulfilment in creating beautiful chaos and solving problems through design. She also recently had her first ever showcase in Braamfonten.

The showcase was The Honey’s first official showcase which was a collaboration with the JNB Hive. The aim of the showcase was to introduce themselves to the masses in the flesh as well as showcasing their work in a way they have never done before. The exhibition was well received by the audience. “It was very overwhelming, oh my goodness, I didn’t expect it to be that packed!” Rendani asserts. “It was a glorious night!” the creative exclaimed in excitement.

According to the young artist, her interest in the creative industry is something that has been within her throughout her life. “It never been something that just developed with me” she explains. Her creative direction is inspired by the conversations she has with people and her routine walk through the city. “Man, I love the city!” Rendani asserts. “It’s by far one of the most amazing things I’ve had the pleasure of being part of, I cannot be inspired by it,” she said.

The messages that Rendani attempts to convey with her work is that Black is beautiful, Black is complex and black is power. She jokingly tells us that behind the scenes of their shoots the vibe is usually filled with chatter and fooling around, however, when the time comes it’s all hard work.  In the next three years to come, Rendani envisages herself in a much better place than where she currently is. “I’m looking forward to the future”, she said cheerfully.
